Celebrating our 2021 Impact Award winner for International Women’s Day this week

In December Khwela Womxn was named the winner of the Impact Award during our annual Chat for Impact Awards – for International Women’s Day this week we celebrate this organisation that believes in the power of womxn to change communities.

Khwela Womxn facilitates experiential learning through womxn’s circles, access to mentors and leveraging technology. As at December 2021, it had provided bursaries, internships and a platform for upskilling to more than 200 women.

WE BELIEVE THAT SELF-EMPOWERED WOMXN ARE THE CHANGE AGENTS FOR THEIR COMMUNITIES

Alongside providing access for womxn through its online Transformational Leadership Journey and support for womxn through its sister’hood’ circles, Khwela Womxn has partnered with Turn.io to create Alora, a WhatsApp Mentor Bot that delivers practical personal and career advice on the channel most womxn across Khwela already engage in.

“Have we met?! I'm Alora - your virtual personal growth mentor! I'm here to help you on your personal growth journey and can share tips with you around Girl Hustle and more. Get in touch by sending a “hello/hi” to +27 600 110 800.”

Alora’s content is driven by themes that real womxn want to learn more about and is an integral part of Khwela Womxn’s work in playing a part in womxn transforming their mindsets and uplifting themselves personally and professionally.

Khwela means “to climb” in isiXhosa, one of the wider spoken languages of South Africa, and the mother tongue of one of Khwela’s co-founders, Asanda Daraza. Turn.io looks forward to working with Khwela Womxn in changing communities through the power of womxn in the coming years.
