Ten inspiring WhatsApp chat services will be showcased at the inaugural Chat for Impact Demo Day 2021 powered by WhatsApp in partnership with Praekelt.org and Turn.io, taking place virtually on September 30th.
The Chat for Impact Demo Day will showcase the WhatsApp chat services that have been developed by social impact organisations including Digify Africa, Ladysmith, Mobile Pathways, Reach52, SameSame, Strongminds, Talk2U, Voices of Venezuela, Vote.org and Worldreader to enhance the work they are doing to securely reach and positively impact their respective communities.
Over the last four months, all 10 organizations, drawn from regions across the world, were participants in the Chat for Impact Accelerator which has supported each organization with funding, mentorship and technical guidance to fasttrack the development of their chat service. Each one has developed a unique WhatsApp messaging service to scale their impact in advancing social justice and equality.
The Chat for Impact Accelerator was launched out of the Chat for Impact Summit powered by WhatsApp and hosted by Turn.io which took place in May this year in the Americas and APAC/EMEA regions and which featured a programme of powerful keynote speakers, insightful and inspiring panels and training for 30 organizations.
The inaugural Chat for Impact Demo Day 2021 will be an opportunity to amplify the important work and impact of the 10 organizations selected by a panel of judges for the Accelerator. It will also help foster future partnerships and collaborations and secure funding for the growth and sustainability of their services. Invited attendees will be able to talk directly to representatives of the 10 organizations by entering the organization’s live booth.
Although the Demo Day is an invite-only event, the 10 use case presentations will be streamed live as part of the Chat for Impact Summit’s intention to build a chat for impact community that can benefit from shared knowledge, experience and insights.
