Two Turn.io clients were recognised in the 14th Annual Shorty Awards, an international awards competition honouring brands, agencies and organisations.
Congratulations go to CARE and Sesame Workshop which were both recognised in the Strategy & Engagement category of the awards which recognise excellence in social media and digital.
CARE USA was the Winner in Chatbots, for the CARE Afghanistan Crisis Response Chatbot, while Sesame Workshop won the Chatbot Audience Honor, Bronze for the Sésamo Chatbot for Families on the Go.
When the United States pulled out of Afghanistan in late August 2021, both current and former CARE Afghanistan employees had urgent questions about applications to establish refugee status for themselves and their families. CARE worked with the team at WhatsApp and Turn.io to quickly design a chatbot that could respond to a high volume of requests and deliver answers in real time. Built in just four days, the chat service has shifted CARE’s thinking around how WhatsApp can contribute to humanitarian crises management.
Through local brand Sésamo, Sesame Workshop integrated its content into an interactive chat response system that can reach families with trusted, impactful educational content tailored to meet their current needs. The Sésamo Chatbot for Families on the Go aims to increase access to playful, evidence-based educational content in key locations in Peru, reaching 26,593 interactions.
